Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Whew...I think I'm all caught up! I'll leave 2009 with a few pics of the fun in the snow!

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Christmas Eve is a big part of the celebration for our family. We have a traditional Swedish Christmas dinner (which I hope the kids will appreciate more each year), Daddy reads from the Bible and we open a few gifts. Here are the jammies from Mor Mor and Papa!
Daddy is reading the bible story and the boys are setting up the Nativity. Little hands do well with the Little People Nativity set...nothing gets broken.

Christmas morning. Santa brought Nik some Batwings and punching gloves!
It was a Star Wars Lego Christmas for Alex!

Santa brought Meggin a carriage for her Princess Castle!

Mommy and Daddy caved and got the Wii for the kids! Wii've all been having great fun.
More baby doll equipment for Meggin.
She loves the baby dolls!

Santa!

Santa Claus comes to Dave's work party every year. It's a very fun tradition, all the kids get to talk to him and receive a gift. On the way to the party Alex said, "he always brings me a Hess Truck" and when he opened his Hess Truck or I guess car this year he promptly said, "not again!" I guess it's time to rethink that tradition.
Niklas loved to see Santa, he was so patient. You'll notice his green shirt with a big M on it. He had a little motion sickness accident in the car on the way to the party, so mommy got him some new clothes Newark, NJ style! Mecca jeans and Mecca shirt...he was stylin'.

Meggin was nervous, but didn't cry. She began saying "Santa" after this visit. She has really become quite the chatter box.

Christmas Preparations

There are always several steps that take place before Christmas actually comes. Here are some of the things that occurred at our house before the joyous holiday!#1. Putting up the Christmas decorations, specifically the tree.
Here's the kiddos hanging ornaments. I think only three were broken in the process. We also quickly realized we could only hang ornaments above Meggin's reach. We had a nicely decorated tree on the top!
# 2 Christmas Cookies

Niklas was able to decorate some of the Christmas cookies by himself this year. They were very handsome sugar cookie men.
#3 The Gingerbread House!
Yes it's a kit, I don't think i would survive anything else.
#4 Getting our hand slammed in the door.
#5 Playing in a huge box
Grandpa Dennis sent his packages in a very large box this year. It was the hit for an entire afternoon.
#6 Putting the presents under the tree.
This lasts the entire month of December...so fun.
#7 Helping Mommy with the dishes and the Swedish Christmas Eve dinner.
Meggin was a big help...she sat in the middle of the counter while I worked!
Now that we are prepared...time to visit with Santa!
Hope we were all good.
